"Submerge" is Oorjaa’s homage to the natural wonders of the wild and mysterious ocean ecosystem, the largest habitat on Earth. Take a deep breath. Did you know that more than half of the oxygen you just breathed is produced in the ocean? So no matter where you live, you are connected to the ocean through every other breath you take.
In the shallows of the planet’s seas, marine life thrives in coral reefs in myriad colours and fluid forms. Playing, living, feeding and breeding over the centuries, marine biodiversity in these reefs have supported life all over the planet.. Handcrafted from banana fibre to mimic the delicate textures and surfaces of a coral reef, the flowing lines of Coraline that echo the ebb and flow of tides, it also reminds us to be mindful of pollution that threatens our coral reefs around the world.

Like the Jellyfish, with their translucent, fluid forms moving in an almost hypnotic rhythm, Aurelia tries to capture the graceful essence of these marine wonders. Incorporating waste fishing nets and waste copper wire into our paper making process, we've attempted to capture the fluid translucency of these fragile sea creatures.
The deep sea, with its mesmerising tapestry of life, offers endless inspiration for this collection. Made from drift wood and handmade banana fibre paper, this collection draws inspiration from the captivating shapes and ethereal movements found beneath the waves.
