Lantana camara is a toxic and invasive weed that was introduced into India as an ornamental plant in the early 1800s and has now taken over more than 300,000 sq kms or about 40 percent of India’s wild areas. Lantana is changing the country’s forest landscape, restricting wildlife movement, inhibiting the growth of local species and contributing to enormous biodiversity loss and zoonotic diseases.

The majestic and graceful Asian elephant is one of the species most affected by Lantana. Designed by the Real Elephant Collective and handcrafted by members of several indigenous communities of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, in South India, who have been co-existing with elephants and other wild animals. These tribal communities supplement their livelihood by removing lantana from the jungle.

Dew Drops on a Spiderweb is a beautiful light sculpture made from handmade banana fibre paper.
